An investigation scene —

Release and buying

When does Project Jupiter come out?

October 5, 2026, in Early Access on Steam. No unlock hour has been announced — the store date is the only firm target. Full details on the release page.

How much will it cost?

Not announced yet. The store notes say the price will rise slightly before each chapter release, so launch window is the cheapest it will ever be.

Is there a demo?

Planned, but not live today. Steam has a demo listing that is not yet available; the developers previously said the free demo would appear on itch first. We flag it the moment it ships.

What platforms?

Windows PCs via Steam. No macOS, Linux or console versions have been announced; the series has been Windows-first throughout.

Is it multiplayer?

No — single-player only, per the store's own tags (Single-player, Family Sharing).

The game itself

Do I need to play the visual novel first?

No. Project Jupiter is a prequel and stands alone. Playing the VN first makes the callbacks land harder; skipping it loses you context, not plot. The story page breaks down both orders.

How long is Chapter 1?

Unannounced. The frame of reference is the series itself: the visual novel runs one to two hours, but this is a different genre — a chapter of an RPG can run longer. We update this the week of launch.

How scary is it?

Judging by official material: spore horror, body horror, murder investigations and a department full of people who are worried. No evidence of jump-scare-heavy design beyond the genre norm. It is a horror game — expect horror things.

Will there be translations?

English at launch. The visual novel picked up French, Korean and Russian through community-driven efforts, and the store notes list translations as part of the plan. Not at launch, though.

Controller support?

Unannounced. The screenshots show keyboard prompts (E, TAB); we'll confirm once the build is out.

Will it run on my PC?

Almost certainly — the specs are modest (Core i3 / 2 GB minimum). Check the PC requirements page.

Where can I follow development?

The Steam news feed and the developer's itch page carry updates; chapter content shows up there first. (This fan site re-verifies pages after every notable update.)
